Before learning to save and spend my money as God intended, I thought I was a frugal spender and was doing ok.

In reality, I was spending money without much a thought on whether if it's a need or just a spur of the moment want.

This was especially bad since I was a college student accumulating school debt and I had no plan on how I was going to pay it nor how long it was going to take to pay it off.

It wasn’t until my senior year that my eyes were open by my business coach and
my financial coach. They had me look back at my spending history and then track my
own spending.

Through these exercises, I learned something that I always teach my clients:

• If you don’t track your spendings, you may spend more than you are earning.
• If you want to grow your wealth, you need to have your money work for you, not the other way around.
• If you don’t have a good accountability partner when you start to budget, you will take longer to improve on your budgeting skills and lose time on building wealth.

Thanks to these lessons, I started to build my account from $400 to save up to $8000 after 6 months from an income of $16/hr at a 40-hour contract and more from starting my business.
